For home use, does it really matter if LED strips are high or low voltage?

I’m thinking about putting some LED strips around my place, but I noticed there are both high-voltage and low-voltage options.
High-voltage ones seem convenient—just plug in and they work. But low-voltage ones are supposed to be safer and have more stable lighting.

For normal home use or just decoration, is it really necessary to go for low-voltage?
Has anyone actually used both? How did you end up deciding?

Hello!
