I’m thinking about installing these 395–405nm UV LED strip lights on my truck (maybe under the bed or inside). Has anyone tried this? Not sure if they’ll work with a vehicle power system or if I need extra equipment.

Yes, these 395–405nm UV LED strip lights can be used on a truck, but they should be installed with the correct wiring and protection. This strip operates on **DC 12V**, so it is compatible with a 12V vehicle system in principle. The included wall power adapter is mainly for household AC power use; for a vehicle installation, you would normally not use the wall adapter, but instead connect the strip to the truck’s 12V DC circuit.
For a safer installation, we recommend using a proper fuse, switch, correct wire gauge, and checking the polarity before powering the strip. Please also make sure the circuit can handle the power draw: the 24W version is about 2A at 12V, while the 60W version is about 5A at 12V, so leaving some extra capacity is recommended. Since vehicle voltage can fluctuate while the engine is running, a suitable 12V regulated connection or professional installation is recommended.
The strip is flexible and cuttable, so it can be mounted inside the cab, under the bed, or in other suitable areas. If you plan to install it outside or underneath the truck, choose the **IP65 waterproof version** and make sure all connections are sealed properly. IP65 helps protect against water splashes and dust, but it is not designed for immersion, pressure washing, or harsh mud/water exposure.
Also, since this is a UV/black light product, avoid looking directly at the LEDs for long periods and avoid placing it where it may shine directly into the driver’s or passengers’ eyes.
