How Difficult Is It to Install Silicone LED Neon Housing?

I’m planning a LED neon lighting project and looking at using a 10mm LED strip together with a silicone neon light housing.

This is my first time installing this type of LED neon housing, so I’m mainly concerned about the installation process.

Is it difficult to insert the LED strip into the silicone housing? Are there any tips to avoid damaging the strip?

This silicone LED neon housing is designed for use with 10mm wide PCB LED strips. With proper installation, it provides a smooth and continuous neon lighting effect. The installation process is not complicated, but using the correct method helps prevent damage to the LED strip and ensures a cleaner final result.

Before installation, please confirm that the LED strip size matches the housing specification. If the LED strip has adhesive backing, we recommend removing the tape first and cleaning the PCB surface with alcohol to reduce resistance during insertion.

When inserting the LED strip, keep the silicone housing straight and avoid twisting, folding, or creating knots. For longer installations, the included guide string can be used to assist the threading process. Attach one end of the LED strip to the guide string, while one person slowly pushes the strip forward and another gently pulls the string from the opposite side to guide the strip through the housing. Do not pull the string with excessive force, as this may stretch or damage the LED strip.

For mounting, the included clips and screws can be used to secure the housing onto walls, wooden frames, window frames, or display structures. The housing can be cut to the required length, but make sure enough space remains at both ends for proper end cap installation and cable access.

Overall, successful installation mainly depends on using a compatible LED strip size, following the correct insertion method, and properly sealing the ends. Taking time during installation will help achieve a cleaner appearance and more reliable long-term performance.
